How to use this tool

1 Paste the original text in the left panel and the modified text in the right panel.
2 Click Compare.
3 Added lines are highlighted in green; removed lines in red.
4 Use the side-by-side or unified view to review changes.

What types of content can I compare?

Any plain text: source code, configuration files, documents, JSON, CSV, and prose.

Does the diff show character-level differences?

Yes. Within a changed line, the exact characters that were added or removed are highlighted in a darker shade.

Can I compare files instead of pasting text?

Some versions support file upload. If not, open both files, copy the text, and paste into each panel.

Is whitespace included in the comparison?

By default, whitespace changes are included. Use the Ignore whitespace option to compare only meaningful content changes.
